It’s the time of year when driving requires extra vigilance—not just because of inclement weather but because of the damage it can wreak. We are, of course, talking about the phenomenon of potholes.
It’s always good to be on the lookout for new potholes, but you can do something about existing ones to protect your car’s tires and those of your fellow motorists: bring it to the attention of the appropriate authorities.
The Michigan Department of Transportation has an online form to report a pothole. You can also call 888-296-4546 to report potholes on state roads. Your report will be forwarded to the correct MDOT region office for action.
To report potholes on local roads, contact your county road commission or local city. Most roads in Canton are maintained by Wayne County, or by private homeowners associations. Here's a quick list of phone numbers for your reference:
