Know Your Org: Ozone House

"Know Your Org" is an informational series designed to spotlight some of the wonderful organizations in our community. This month we are highlighting Ozone House.

Ozone House is an Ypsilanti-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) that supports homeless and runaway youth in the community. Ozone House opened in 1969, and is a growing organization focused on providing free, confidential and voluntary shelter and support services to homeless youth including runaways, high-risk youths ages 10-20 and their families.

Services Offered

Ozone House maintains a crisis line at 734-662-2222 that can help connect youth to much-needed services. These include a safe place to stay, a spot to drop-in and grab food, job training, school support, case management and counseling and LGBTQ+ support

Meaningful Impact

Ozone House’s services provide safe refuge for 800 youth each year; over 20,000 hours of one-on-one services and life skills training; and school assistance for over 1,500 students.

On their website, Ozone House share many stories of the positive difference their work has made in the community, like Michael’s: “Michael came to Ozone House when he was suicidal. His parents kicked him out of the home for being gay. After working with an Ozone House Family Therapist, Michael and his family safely reunited, and he is excelling in school and sports.”
