So Many Books, So Little Time

If you’re a Libby user, you might be reluctant to put a lot of books on hold in case they all come in at once. You shouldn’t be, because Libby has a helpful feature called “Deliver Later.” This feature helps you stay at the top of the hold list, while letting the next person in line go ahead of you until you're ready to enjoy your book.

To activate the “Deliver Later” feature, open the Libby app and tap the stack of books icon at the bottom of the screen to see your shelf. From there, tap on “Holds” and then choose “Deliver Later” next to the title you want to delay. You’ll use a slider to schedule a later date.

This doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get the item on that date because by relinquishing your current place in line, you’re making the item available to a person who is in the position behind you in the hold queue for that title. If it’s not available at your requested date, the item will be placed on hold for you as soon as it becomes available.

If you fail to check out an item in the 72-hour hold window after it becomes available, Libby will automatically schedule it to be delivered later. If you fail to pick it up a second time though your hold will be cancelled.
