The Coziest Places to Read in the Library

You already know the library is the place to find the books you're looking for, but did you know it's also the place to read them? If escaping into a good book also requires an escape from home, or if you need a warm place to sit and read while the winter weather calms down, we've got several different cozy reading sites throughout the library.

A cozy nook.
Do you want to have a "reading party" where you read to or with one of your kids? Check out the nook in the Children's Library just to the right after you enter. It's a nice, padded area that will make you and your children feel nestled away in your own homey reading cabin.

A warm spot by the fire.
Reading by the fire on a cold winter's day or evening is incredibly relaxing. We've got a large fireplace area behind our International Language section with floor-to-ceiling windows for a view of the Butterfly Garden. There's also a sectional-style couch if you want to be closer to the fireplace. Several comfy chairs line the windows, with side tables where you can set your warm beverage of choice.

A quiet seat by the window.
Just east of the fireplace section is an open area by the Book Club-in-a-Bag kits with a large couch, chairs and plenty of natural light. These chairs rotate 360 degrees, so you can sit facing the big picture windows for an extra touch of nature or sit with your back to the window and feel the sun's warmth on your neck and shoulders.
