Thanks to a donation from the Friends of the Canton Public Library, Canton residents will have more materials to check out, and the Canton Public Library's long-term financial outlook will be even stronger.
At the annual Volunteer Tea on December 2, 2021, the Friends of the Canton Public Library presented a $10,000 donation to the library’s endowment fund. The fund, established under the management of the Local Impact Alliance, ensures the library's long-term financial stability, benefitting Canton residents for years to come.
The Friends of the Library also donated $2,500 to expand the library’s collection of WonderBooks, print children’s books with a ready-to-play audiobook inside. The donation will add to Canton Public Library’s growing WonderBooks collection comprised of over 100 titles.
“We are so grateful for the continuous support and generosity of the Friends,” said Eva Davis, Library Director. “This donation means financial stability for years to come, as well as support for our younger readers as we set out to provide engaging materials that promote early literacy.”
The Friends of the Canton Public Library are members of the community who support the Canton Public Library’s goals and services. They advocate on behalf of the library, raise the funds to meet specific library needs, and volunteer their time to serve the library and its users.
